Volunteering is the commitment of time and energy for the benefit of society and the community, the environment or individuals in the local context or abroad.
Volunteering is always a matter of choice and it promotes human rights and equality among people.
Volunteering is an altruistic activity that undertaken freely and by choice, without concern for financial gain, only for the pleasure of giving to others.
If you want to participate in a volunteering project contact the EVS Portal to find the best activity for you.
Why volunteer? This is a question that has more than one answer. Volunteering is about giving something to others; giving something back to the community and make a difference to the people around them.
There are so many different projects to choose from. It gives you the opportunity to develop new skills or build on existing experience and knowledge that can enhance a CV and improve one’s employment prospects.
It brings social benefits such as meeting new people, getting to know a local community and a chance to socialise. Some people described volunteering as being challenging, rewarding, educational, inspiring, fulfilling and opportunistic.
