The European Voluntary Service forms part of ERASMUS+, EVS offers young people the opportunity to volunteer in another country. A wide variety of placements can be found in the social, cultural, environmental, and sports sector.

Projects last from 2 weeks to 12 months, and as a volunteer you can work in a wide range of fields, such as culture, youth, sports, education, cultural heritage, arts, animal welfare, environment and development cooperation.

At the end of the EVS period, each volunteer receives the Youthpass, a certificate that confirms the participation of the volunteer in the project and the description of the project.

EVS aims to involve all young people between 17 years old to 30 fostering applications from the most disadvantaged ones.

EVS provides the funding to cover the volunteer's costs (free accommodation, food, insurance, and pocket money). This project is a partnership between two or more promoting organisations. These organisations are responsible for recruiting volunteers for their project. Volunteers participate in EVS through a Sending Organisation in the country where they live and a Receiving Organisation that receives and hosts them during their period of service.
